Current mood: tired

So apparently I am a college graduate. B.A. in Environmental Studies, with an Environmental Chemistry concentration. No honors. Fooling around with being a Bio and Chemistry major ruined my GPA, but it led to good things so I won't complain. Although I am disappointed that I don't have a B.S., because it sounds funny and I'm really not mature enough to be a real live adult.

(Oh, and I'm a red belt in karate. That felt like more work, actually. Probably because I got lost on the way to the atheletic club and walked two miles in the wrong direction. Yay Google Maps.)

Um. More later, because I'm exhausted, but please don't ask me "what are your plans now?" because I really don't have any, and I anticipate having to say that eighteen thousand more times before I finally get some. However, I am considering law, because it seems like I could do some good there with my writing skills and scientific knowledge and environmentalism, whereas I don't think I'm really cut out to do scientific research anymore.

Anyway, as I told Kitty, I keep looking at the diploma and thinking "Wow, they put a seal and a ribbon on it and everything. It almost looks like a real degree!" and then remembering, that, um, it is.

We're in the same boat, only you're years younger and don't have a bunch of people assuming you're an engineer. My MS will be in Environmental Science, once I get it (assuming I don't die or something before June).

Yeah. Um.
(My mom who actually loves to cook told me that this summer she wants me to be in charge of dinner once a week so I get some practice, and I was thinking, no, that's okay.)

Oh, and this might do nothing more than kill time, but it has pretty pictures.

Yeah, my mom is also an amazing cook, but I can't do anything but marinara sauce and scrambled eggs. (You wouldn't believe how long it took me to learn the scrambled eggs, and with the marinara I work from a recipe. Part of it is that she works without a recipe and can't write it down, so I basically have to do participant-observation and take copious notes.) I feel like I could work from a recipe, though, and I like sites like Cooking for Engineers that have step-by-step photos.

I can't stand getting that "What are you doing now" question either. Not everything in life has to be mapped out.

Well, I think a lot of the people asking it are, at least right now, thinking mostly about the economy. D: But at least I'm not alone in saying "Hell if I know!"
